BHAVAN’S WELCOMED 2016-17 WITH FUN AND FROLIC The CBSE i section of Indian Educational School (Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan), Kuwait played a different note on 4th April 2016 to celebrate the beginning of the new academic year 2016-17. The celebration started with a morning assembly conducted by the teachers in the school auditorium while the students were seated in amphitheatrically which eventually changed the atmosphere into something that of the old Roman Colosseum. Mr. Suresh. V. Balakrishnan, the Vice Principal of Bhavan CBSE i delivered the welcome speech, and spread the message that right education which helps create stable minded human beings rather than emotionally unbalanced psychopaths is the need of the hour. He wanted children to nurture and maintain the intense desire for success in life. He ended the speech with the promise of a fun- filled year ahead.   Then the ‘fun-gate’ opened, and began all the fun. A game of identifying the teachers was played: teachers wearing masks to conceal their identity stood on the stage and let the students guess and identify them. Followed by a hilarious parade of teachers in different get up meant to break the monotonous tan of their appearance indicating a fun- filled year ahead. A visual depiction of a brief biography of Dr. A. P. J Abdul Kalam was to add a little seriousness about the event.   Mr. T. Premkumar, the principal of IES Kuwait spiced up the celebration with an entertaining speech. He inspired the children with his fatherly talk, and assured everyone once again that learning is fun. The programme ended with the principal inaugurating a salad party and then the students and teachers were literally “saladed and caked.”
