A weeklong, vibrant and exuberant “Bhavans Fest” was virtually organized from July 5 to July 9, 2020 by Bhavans Kuwait to provide a platform for students to showcase their talents in music, dance, fashion, culinary and acting skills. The week commenced on a musical note with solo singing and instrumental music. Yoga and aerobic exercises performed by the teachers of the Department of Physical Education were part of the daily student activities. On the second day, the students put up an impressive performance with their amazing dance moves. Redefining the fashion statements, the third day saw mesmerizing ramp walks, fancy dress, nail art and t- shirt designing by students. Taking cue from history, literature and science, the students exhibited a remarkable performance by impersonating legendary figures and also showcased their acting skills through mono acting, mimicry, and character portrayal. Through a virtual platform, Dr. Parveen Nazim Parkar, General Physician and Diabetologist, Yiaco Medical Center, Salmiya, made the students aware of the precautions to be taken to keep themselves safe from the scourge of COVID 19.The motivational talks by two alumni of IES, Dr. Ron George, a doctor and a research scholar and Mr. Vaishak Menon, an accomplished actor and director ignited the young minds to passionately chase their dreams with conviction and persistence. Insightful talks by eminent personalities and fitness sessions exclusively curated by the Department of Physical Education for bhavanites, added an extra boost to their fitness level. On the closing day, the teachers appreciated the meticulous planning and presentation of various programmes by the students, who had contributed their mite, and also expressed their gratitude to the parents for their untiring support to make the fest a grand success.
