Bhavans Model United Nations convened its 6th edition of BMUN 2019, on 24th and 25th of October 2019, in Indian Educational School, Kuwait. Bhavans Model United Nations is an undertaking, by which the prestigious institution aims at the educational simulation of the UN. Liana Maria Joseph, the Head Girl of Indian Education School, Kuwait extended a warm welcome to the august gathering, His Highness, Dr. Shamir Ally, the ambassador of Guyana to Kuwait, Dr. Maryyann Beebe Ally, Dr. Ameera Al Hassan, the current acting head, office at UN-Habitat GCC Office in Kuwait, Mr. M Pradap Felix, the distinguished guests of honour and the Principal of New Gulf Indian School, Mr. Rolando Lozada, the deputy head of mission of the embassy of Peru in the state of Kuwait, Mr. T. Premkumar, the Principal, IES Kuwait, Mr. Mahesh Iyer, the Principal, Smart Indian School, Ms. Shanta Maria, the Principal, ICS, Vice-Principals, the teachers and the delegates from various schools, and gave a glimpse of BMUN from its very inception to the present day. The young vibrant 100 delegates with different ideologies from various schools in Kuwait, with four dynamic committees namely United Nations General Assembly, Joint Session of Indian Parliament, Historic United Nations Security Council and United Nations Human Rights Council engaged and allowed themselves to deeper understanding into the current world issues. Mr. Ajith Kumar, the Chief Guest, and the Principal, United Indian School, presided over the valedictory function along with the other dignitaries Dr. Shamir Ally, the ambassador of Guyana to Kuwait, Dr. Maryyann Beebe Ally and Mr. T. Premkumar, the Principal, IES Kuwait. The organizing committee of BMUN 2019 hosted the prize distribution ceremony. A newsletter, comprising reports of various committees, report of the proceedings by the committees and the photographs of the events, was released by Dr. Shamir Ally. Mr. Sriee Aswathaman, Head of the Department, French, proposed the vote of thanks. Bhavans offers an extensive range of extracurricular activities for students designed to broaden and deepen their global perspective.
