On May7, 2016, Indian Educational School (Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan) celebrated its 10 years of providing peerless education by organizing a splendacious two day interschool cultural fiesta- ‘BHAVYAM’. Bhayvam means ‘splendid or magnificent’ and the event stood true to its name as Bhavans invited all the Indian schools of Kuwait to be a part of its spellbinding celebration. Over 16 Indian schools in Kuwait participated in over 10 events, each school displaying their various talents. The magnolious event unfurled in all its grandeur with the entry of the honorable guest of honor, The Ambassador of India to Kuwait. The program was honored by the presence of the Honorable Ambassador of India to Kuwait, Mr. Sunil Jain, Mr. Ashok Pradhaan IAS (Retd.), Former Secretary of Government to India, as well as the Director of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Delhi Kendra, Mr. Sooraj Ramachandran along with the other dignitaries of the Bhavans family. The guests were welcomed with performances choreographed by the IES faculty.
Day 1 of Bhavyam witnessed Bhavam (Gita Chanting), Mohanam (Fusion Dance), Swadesham (Patriotic song), Drishyam (Photography) Tharangam (Beat Boxing) and Vismayam (Mime). The evening of 07th May also witnessed another event ‘Anandam’ which was organized specially for the parents and children of IES.
Chathuryam (debate), Varnam (rangoli) and Natyam (tribal dance) were the events on Day 2.
The management of IES paid their gratitude to the IES faculty for their hard work and commitment with surprise gifts which comprised of to and fro air tickets to India for five lucky pedagogues.
The IES auditorium shimmered with trophies and certificates for all the participants of the event. The prize distribution ceremony was performed by the chief guest along with the chairman and principal.
Indian English Academy School (IEAS) was declared as the second runners up. The Bhavyam championship trophy was lifted victoriously into the air by the proud prodigies of FAIPS- DPS. Trophies and certificates were also accorded to the other winners and participants.
The IES auditorium witnessed the display of marvelous talents and each performance was incomparable to the other. The participants got a chance to nurture their talents, the spectators experienced two full days of fun and frolic and the Bhavans family relished the success of their one month long labour as the show was widely appreciated by all the Indian schools. Bhavyam- 2016 marked the beginning of the next long journey of Bhavans and the IES family paid adieu, hoping to meet at the ‘Silver Jubilee’ of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.
