Bhavans celebrated the 74th Independence Day on the auspicious morning of 15 August with undeterred spirit and patriotic zeal. Bhavans fraternity joined the celebrations on the virtual platform. Under the aegis of the Physical Education Department headed by Dr. Murugaiyan, the Principal of Indian Educational School, Mr. T. Premkumar unfurled the national flag in the school premises and delivered the Indian President, Ram Nath Kovind’s message to the nation. The flag hoisting was followed by the melodious rendition of the Indian National Anthem and patriotic songs sung by the teachers of IES. The Student Council of IES headed by the school head boy, Master Jerome John and the head girl, Ms. Vaishnavi Rajesh Pai hosted an elaborate cultural extravaganza on the virtual platform musing the glorious past of their motherland. The students of Grade 6 were invited to join the virtual celebrations. A host of meticulously curated cultural and literary events that were staged virtually aroused the patriotic spirit in the hearts of all the spectators. Various performances like dances, bhajans, and speeches by the students brought out the richness and diversity of our nation in its true spirit. An online compendium of artworks of grade 5 students based on the theme “Mera Bhaarat Mahan”, won the admiration of all. The Chairman of Bhavans Middle East, Mr. N.K. Ramachandra Menon extended his warm wishes for the day and encouraged the students to be responsible citizens. The senior leadership team of vice principals graced the occasion with their virtual presence and offered their hearty wishes on this memorable occasion. The bhavanites thus paid tribute to the great leaders in a befitting manner and carried home the patriotic spirit in their hearts.
