National Nutrition Week is celebrated every year from 1 September to 7 September, to make people aware of nutrition and its importance in our life and to curb the problem of malnutrition. To enliven this value in the kids, at Indian Educational School, Kuwait, salad making activity was conducted for classes from 1 to 4. The students brought pre-cut vegetables, fruits and sprouts from home and made delicious and nutritious salads. Children shared ideas on how to make salads more delicious and tempting. Children were motivated and they resolved to continue this practice and eat an ‘assorted rainbow salad’ every day. To instill life skills and social values in children they were asked to distribute a portion of the salad prepared by them to the assisting staffs who attends to their every need in the school. In the salad making competition conducted in the middle wing, the students of grades 5K, 6H, 7B and 8F emerged as winners. The salad making activity proved to be a pleasurable learning experience for the students as well as the teachers.
