No pandemic can ever adversely affect the true spirit of the Bhavanites. It has once again been proven by the collaborative effort of the management, the teachers, the students and the parents of Indian Education School, Kuwait, by celebrating Eid al-Fitr christened ‘RAHMA 2020’, on a virtual platform, with all its significance and solemnity, on May 23, 2020 from 7.30 p.m. to 8.15 p.m. The indelible moments of the celebration began with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Quran by Yunus Hamdan of 8C, Sahal Ansar of 10B and Anza Azlam of 5G respectively. Then the programme proceeded with the Kuwait National Anthem. To make the event a distinctive one, there were other programmes like song of Eid by Yousuf Shameem of 4J and the video streaming of children extending Eid greetings. To encourage the students and improve their knowledge of the history of Islam, a quiz session was also organized and conducted by Ms. Muneera Mammikutty, the Head of the Department of English, Primary Wing. Following that, Mifzal Abdul Gafoor of 6I and Mr. Abu Abdulhadi (parent) discoursed on the significance of celebrating Eid al-Fitr. To retain the sanctity of the celebration, a session on ‘Dua’ was held both in Arabic and in English by Mr. Jabir Hassan of the Department of Islamic Studies. On the auspicious occasion, Mr. N. K. Ramachandran Menon, the Chairman of Bhavans Middle East, extended his Eid greetings to the gathering and Mr. T. Premkumar, the principal of IES, expressed his happiness being part of the event and extended his Eid greetings to Mr. Ali Judiyan Al Rashidi, the sponsor of the school, his family and everyone associated with Bhavans Kuwait. The whole programme was coordinated by Ms. Rawia Rotfy Ahmed Osman, the Department of Arabic, under the aegis of Mr. Mohammed Khamis, Manager at sponsor’s office and Mrs. Shaima Zaki , Administrative Manager, Bhavans Kuwait. The emcee for the day was Misbah Kazim Parkar of 7B. The celebration came to an end with the singing of the Indian National Anthem.
