Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (Indian Educational School) organized the prize distribution ceremony of Chroma 2016, an annual interschool art competition sponsored by Mrs. and Mr. Prince Chacko in memoriam of their beloved daughter, late Ruth Chacko who bade adieu to the world of mortals to be with lord Almighty. The event was truly a fine gesture to commemorate Ruth, a prodigious painter residing in her celestial abode and her supreme verve for drawing and coloring. The competition was held on 5 November 2016 in the school auditorium at 9 am and was adjudged by well-known professional artists. There were 140 budding artists from 9 Indian schools in Kuwait contesting in five categories – LKG-UKG, Standards I- II, II-IV, V- VI and VII-IX. The Prize Distribution Ceremony was organized in the school auditorium on 17 November 2016 at 10 am and was well attended by a fairly large audience that consisted of teachers, parents, participants and little Ruth’s batch mates. The lighting of the ceremonial lamp conjointly performed by Mrs. and Mr. Prince Chacko, the chairman Mr. N. K Ramachandran Menon, the principal Mr.T.Premkumar, the principal of Smart Indian School Mr. Mahesh Iyer, the vice principals Mr. Suresh V Balakrishnan (Senior and Middle Wings), Mrs. Lalitha Premkumar (Primary and Kindergarten wings) along with the Head of the Art Department Mr. Mukundan, marked the significance and the solemnity of the occasion. The winners of the contest were accorded with a memento and cash prize by Mr. Prince Chacko, the sponsor of the contest, in the presence of other dignitaries of the function. The programe was wound up with a photo session comprising the winners and the chief guests of the event.
