“Protect Ozone Layer and Save Life on Earth.”

‘World Ozone Day’ is observed around the world every year on 16 September. This event commemorates the date of the signing of the Montreal Protocol on substances that deplete the ozone layer in 1987. This year’s theme for World Ozone Day is ‘’32 Years and Healing’’. With great delight, The Bhavans Eco Club celebrated this day with a small but significant contribution to the environment. IES always makes sure that the message of every event and celebration seeps deep into the heart of every student in such a day that it leaves a lasting impression to carry it forward in their lives.  In the assembly, a speech on World Ozone day and its importance was delivered by Lakshminanda Madhusoodhanan of 8B. All the students were shown a powerpoint presentation on the importance of saving the ozone layer. The Bhavans Eco-club organized an ‘eco enzyme production activity’. Eco enzyme is a multi-purpose liquid that is produced from the fermentation of organic waste that helps to protect ozone depletion. All the Eco Club Warriors were assembled in the physics lab for the same. Eco enzyme is a complex solution produced by fermentation of brown sugar, waste fruit and vegetable odds, and water in the ratio 1:3:10. This garbage enzyme catalysis- process will release ozone gas (O3). Ozone gas can reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere that traps heat in the cloud. Hence heat can be released from the earth, reducing greenhouse and global warming effects.

Every ozone hole is a threat to our soul. Get in the zone to save ozone! Life depletes when ozone depletes.
