Indian Education School, Kuwait virtually conducted the 7th edition of Bhavans Model United Nations (BMUN), the first edition of Bhavans Model United Nations Middle East (BMUNME), and the very first E-Model United Nations organized by a school in the State of Kuwait, on May 30, 2020. Aaron Yohann Thomas, one of the members of the core committee of BMUN, wholeheartedly welcomed the Chief Guest, Dr. Amira Al- Hassan, the Programme Manager, the UN Habitat (UN Settlement Programme) in her absence, the other dignitaries Mr. N.K Ramachandran Menon, the Chairman, Bhavans Middle East, Mr. Sooraj Ramachandran, the Vice Chairman Bhavans Middle East, Mrs. Divya Rajesh, the Director, Bhavans Middle East, Mr. T. Premkumar, the Principal, IES, Mrs. Rathi Ravindran, the Principal, Bhavans Jack and Jill, Ms. Girija Baiju, the Principal, Bhavans Private International English School, Abu Dhabi, Mr. Saji Jacob, the Principal, Bhavans Bahrain Indian School, the Vice Principals of IES, the members of the staff from various Bhavans schools in the GCC and the participants of BMUN 2020.

The event hosted two committees in this edition of BMUN, the General Assembly that was centered on the topic, ‘Emergency Session to Actively Combat the Growing Severity of the COVID 19 Pandemic’ and the Economic and Financial Council that focused on ‘The Aftermath of COVID 19 and its Disastrous Effects on the Global Economy’. The event witnessed a strong clash of ideologies of 65 diplomats of tomorrow, representing 9 different schools in the Middle East.

Mr. Premkumar, the Principal of IES, announced the results of hours-long rhetoric speeches and heated arguments. The coveted position of the Best Delegation of BMUNME 2020 was bagged by Fahaheel Al Watanieh Indian Private School – DPS, Kuwait. Congratulations were showered upon the winners of the various panel discussions of the event, who will later receive e-certificates from the organizing committee of BMUNME 2020.Sharon Mathew of 11 B proposed the vote of thanks and expressed her profound gratitude to everyone who made the online event a grand success. This event has truly left an indelible impression on the minds of its virtual spectators.
