World Tobacco Day is observed this year, with the theme ‘protecting youth from industry manipulation and preventing them from tobacco and nicotine use’. Bhavans virtually observed the day of awareness under the aegis of the Department of Science on May 31, 2020. Even amidst the global spread of the pandemic COVID-19, the day remains quite significant and Bhavans IES did not want to miss an opportunity to make its student community fully aware of the considerable risks associated with the use of tobacco products. The students of grades 5 to 10 had been asked to make a video presentation on the harmful effects of the use of tobacco, stating the origin and the chemicals present in it. The selected videos were played in the virtual classrooms of all the classes of grades 5 to 10 during the first period. The informative videos enlightened the virtual viewers about the significance of observing World No Tobacco Day.
