IES Bhavans Celebrated Earth Day 2021

Bhavans Indian Education School, Kuwait, commemorated ‘Earth Day’ on April 22, 2021, under aegis of the Departments of Science and Social Science on its virtual stage with this year’s theme, ‘Restore Our Earth’. The Department of Science organized an informative webinar. Reine Mary John of 6E introduced the Chief Guest. Ms. Suma Ravindran, a well-known life skill counsellor, remedial teacher and resource person of the day. The students of grades 6 and 7 were the audience for the programme. Videos of E-Waste Management and posters on the theme ‘Restore Our Earth’ were presented. A powerful rendition on the theme ‘Mother Earth’ was presented by Sheril Mathew of 7B, Rufus Mathew James of 5 F and Serafin Fredy of 6C. The vote of thanks was proposed by Sukruti Krishnamurthy Gowda of 6H. The Department of Social Science also organized a webinar on Climate Change in association with the GSL Team (Global Social Leaders) of IES, Bhavans Kuwait. The webinar focused on making the young generation aware of the relevance of sustainable development. Aaron Anil Thomas and Joseph Joe Puthenveli of 9F presented informative speeches on the theme ‘Restore Our Earth’. Andriel Remi of 9F presented a video on the conservation of nature. An interesting interactive session was organized to discuss at length the topic of Climate Change and the activities of the GSL Team. More than 150 participants from grades 6, 7, 8, and 9 participated in the program. Mr. Binoy Mathew, the Department Head of Social Science, the Senior Wing addressed the gathering and emphasized the role of every individual in achieving the global goals. Ms. Ann Bindhia, Department Head of Social Science, the Middle Wing extoled students for their efforts in making the event successful and encouraged all students to participate actively in all the initiatives taken by the school on global issues. The vote of thanks was proposed by Muhammed Mujatba Ali of 9F.
