A question posed at the right time builds that essential knowledge – with that understanding, the more complex, more interesting knowledge has roots, and the learning keeps on building. To harness the young learner’s natural curiosity and to make inquiry a habit of mind, Bhavans IES organized ‘Question to Question’ on 17 February 2021 which was a part of its new initiative-Meet the Expert. Mr. N. K. Ramachandran Menon, the Chairman of Bhavans Middle East was requested to be the key resource person. The session was exclusively conducted for the students of grade 4. Kevin Jinu Varghese, a student of 4E welcomed the gathering with virtual verbal bouquets of warm welcome. The eventful session started with a reflective speech on the importance of questioning by Mr. T. Premkumar, the Principal of Indian Education School. The students asked interesting and challenging questions on taking risks, the influence of a person on a child’s life, role of an employee and an entrepreneur, management, passion, the present pandemic, tips to be successful in life, education, motivation while facing obstacles, etc. The resource person aptly used counter questions, funnel questions, leading questions, open and closed questions to answer each question. Mrs. Muneera Mammikutty, the Head of the Department of English, the Primary Wing coordinated the program. Ms. Anselma Tessy Judeson, Vice Principal in her closing thoughts emphasized the importance of maintaining focus and advised the students to ask questions to clarify doubts. Ms. Meenakshi Nayyar, the Vice Principal, Middle Wing and Ms. Lalitha Premkumar, Vice Principal, Primary Wing thanked the Chairman for his words of wisdom and reiterated the importance of asking questions. The emcee of the day was Abhijith S. Krishna, a student of 4A.
