Bhavans strongly believes in the need for a greener planet and organized a plethora of eco- friendly events to celebrate the World Environment Day, ensuring that our planet continues to be a conducive place for us and the generations to come. The students of primary wing set the right ambience by singing a prayer song; penned by Mrs Muneera (Head of the Department, English, Primary Wing) and composed by Mrs Jayadevi (Department of Music), offering a tribute to nature. A captivating video presentation by the students of primary wing on the ways to protect the enviornment won the hearts of everyone. ‘Shades’, the virtual painting exhibition, showcasing more than 500 paintings of Bhavanites, portrayed a kaleidoscope projection of nature. Video presentations, dance recitals and monolgues were presented by students of middle wing emphasizing the need to protect and preserve mother nature. The Department of Science made a presentation on ‘Grow Green, Microgreens’, a cross-curriculum project initiated by the department for the students of grades 1 to 12. The video message from Dr. Krishnakumar Sugumaran, the Associate Research Scientist, the Department of Desert Agriculture and Ecosystem Programme of the Environment and Life Science Research Centre under the Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research, was the highlight of the day. He expressed his deep gratitude to the management of Bhavans for giving him an opportunity to address the student community IES. In his message, he discoursed on the topic, ‘Biodiversity’. Mr. T. Premkumar, the Principal of Indian Educational school appreciated the indomitable spirit and renewed vigour of Bhavanites to excel in such trying times. Bhavans took an innovative step to club the curricular and co-curricular activities, honing the skills in specific but diverse areas across all grades from kindergarten to grade 12.
